2. Hypothetically---should I stick to my optimistic ways and hope for a Nov. release date---or should I just give it up and resolve myself to the idea that 1st Quarter is more realistic

because the Pearl is a different model line...

I have no doubts that the next version of the 8700 is being worked on, but there will be time for the Pearl to hit the market, and gain a lil market share.

I saw this phone and it is unlike any blackberry I've ever seen. It will def be popular.

It will have a camera. That said, administrators of blackberry servers (the IT people that manage your companies internet) will be able to disable it, or any other function that the company wants disabled. (and it can be done remotely) 😳

BB rep gave me a tenative release date of Nov 15th. It will have a camera. Cingular will still carry the 8700 and 7130 as many larger corps won't allow this fearure. There is also a full qwerty version in the works for those who do not care for the sure type. I was also told it may feature push to talk. I did check one of these out and it is a gorgeous phone!

the camera can be disabled by a companies IT dept remotely, which means they can deactivate the camera when needed (most likely all the time).

I do see this phone as an addition, meaning it won't replace either the 7130 or the 8700.
