I can't seem to get a straight answer from customer service.

"Is there a charge for sending a text message from the computer to a handset?"

I mainly ask because there is a place for you to enter your cell number. Thanks

I'm pretty sure there is. Administrative text messages are the only ones that are free.

If you send it from anywhere other than you handset, it's free. The place to put your number is only for 'callback' number for the receiver.

Your only charged if you send or receive a text on your mobile device.
