"Boot Up" speed

This may seem like a strange question, but is the speed in which a phone goes from OFF to READY determined more by the phone its self, or by the network it's on? Here's why I ask: I currently have a couple two-year-old basic Samsung flip phones (forget the model) from Verizon. These phones take FOREVER to "boot up" when you turn them on. I mean it's literally around a full minute before it's ready to make a call. My wife recently got a Samsung D807 slider from Cingular and it boots up super-fast. Her's is more like 5-7 seconds and it's ready. Is that because its a different/newer phone, or is it because of the cingular network? I think you answered your own question. 👀 You have an old samg phone. I had a d415 with T-Mo and that thing will also take like 30 - 40 secs to get ready 😡 , and even after that... if I tried to go into the phonebook it will take another 20 secs before showing me my contacts... I can only think that Smg worked on this annoying issue and now their new phone boot up faster...
On a side note: Enjoy the Se w300i. I am pretty sure you'll like them...

Yeah, I've been doing a lot of reading about the W300i and it seems like a pretty solid performer in the areas that matter to me (reception, volume, sound qua...
