Porting to an Unlocked Phone

i'm planning to get an unlocked K790a to use with Cingular. i'm currently with Sprint... will Cingular be able to port my number to an unlocked phone?

yes of course. Cingular and Tmobile are both GSM carriers. they use sim cards( its basically this lil tiny card that goes in ur phone)

basically, when u port over, they will give u a sim card, and u can put that in any unlocked GSM phone.

oh, and by the way, when u go to the cingular store to port over, makes sure u specifically tell them that you already have a phone that you would like to use. maybe they can give u a larger rebate(i kno some indirect agents do)

If they don't buy anything, there's nothing to rebate though.

You only get a rebate for something that you buy in the store... not just for porting in

yes you can 😁 😁 good choice sprint sucks!! 👿 thats why i use cingular and t-mobile on my razr v3xx and razr maxx..

You can do that, but one thing to keep in mind is that with any of the plans that include mobile to Mobile, you're required to sign a contract... so you might want to take advantage of the pricing offered with the contract and have a spare handset around too...
