i work as an agent of cingular. my sony ericsson w600 was replaced with a d807. i have helped customers that have had the w600 or 710 process claims and have received the w810i.

they sent one of my customers just the guts of the 810 because they told him since he had a w600 already the cables and everything were all the same.

when i was replacing mine the w810 wasnt out yet so i had a choice of v3, 👿 , v3i 🙄 , slvr 🤣 , d807. so i chose the d807.

you have no idea what you are talking about i work on the cingular insurance we do not send out the w810 as replacement for the s710 the only option for replacement of the s710 is the d807 in the rare chance we dont have a d807 in stock we send out a moto l7 slvr the w810 is uninsurable and will not be sent as a replacement for anyhting other then a w810 at which time the insurance will be removed from the account

so what makes the w810 ineligible for insurance. the s710 was more than the w810 with the 2yr agreement when it was released, came with memory stick, software, and it was eligible from day one it shelves. 😕

cost isn't the issue

the issue is like for like features

s710a = 1.3 MP Camera
w810i = 2.0 MP Camera

so it's not like for like

really, that's not what i'm asking. i asked why isn't the w810 eligible for insurance, when both phones had almost equal features at launch. being that the camera was the only major difference, why is one eligible at launch and the other not?

they are trying to profit from insurance now. its funny how insurance goes up 1 dollar to cover the more expensive phones with 3g and advance features and such. but every since it went up less and cheaper phones are being covered.

LOL, the only UMTS handset that is covered is the cu400! Not the cu500/cu500v, a707, and of course not the 8525 and the i607! Insurance went up to be closer matched to other companies pricing not their service. 🤣

Cingular doesn't do the insurance. You need someone from Asurion.
