Has this ever happened to u all many times a day? Customer walks in, yea what phones do u have for free. You answer either BOGO with media packages or otherwise. Customer says wal mart has this phone for free or for whatever price.
im so sick of wal mart's phone prices, selling the razr at 28.88 among other phones for free or rediculously cheap. yet i still shop there becuase i have to i hate it. they take away my commission because they dont pay their employees a decent wage or commission or insurance. does anyone else feel the same way?
...
well, it could be worse. all those people that work there could have NO job at all.
...
not tryin to be a smarta** but call me a careless asshole but i care about my well being more than others that i do not know. if wal mart didnt exist these people would work somewhere else becuase there would be more small businesses open. or there would be some other reatail giant. not to mention i just love fixing wal marts mistakes every freaking day
...
trust me... i know...
...
Sorry to say it, but why do you have to shop there? I make it a point not to buy from there because I don't want them to make a dime off of me. Sure, I mean nothing to them. More than 1,000 people probably make up for me not shopping there. I still feel better as a consumer because I don't purchase their goods.
Sell people on your service. I bend over backwards for my customers that shop from me, but I nickel and dime everyone else. Every person who purchases a phone from me is shocked at the level of service and consideration I give them, and everyone who doesn't buy from me is made aware that these services are given as complimentary to my customers.
...
well i have def saved some sells on priding my location in customer service as well as telling them we offer a much larger selection of phones. but some people just want stupid razr's no matter what i say. reason i shop there is becuase i have to, there isnt anywhere else i can shop in my town. i live in quite a rural city, if i want to go shop at a mall i have to drive an hour+. trust me i do as much as i can not to shop there...i hate spending every penny that i spend there
...
I get what your saying. That really does suck. I'd try to only buy the items that you know they don't profit off of and order most other things online. 🤣
I love it when people buy their phone elsewhere for a savings of $10, and then when they come back to me I charge them $10 to transfer their phonebook.
...
First, let me say i agree with what you are saying. Second It's Christmas guys..let it do. We can all fight about this stuff next year. Believe me these problems will still be there.
...
were not really fighting just discussing our frustrations lol
...
I didn't think we were fighting either. At most, sharing frustrations. 😁

WMT's people aren't trained the tiniest bit in wireless. I was an asst mgr for them before joining Cingular. We'd hire people, put them in orientation for 3 days (2 days is all paperwork), then toss 'em on the floor and tell 'em to sell stuff and stock the shelves.
If you feel comfortable buying a phone from a store and 'rep' like that just to save a few bucks, don't come to my store asking for help when something is screwed up, cuz you'll promptly get put on the phone with customer service.
...
This is the dilemna, We have a customer who comes to us for service but they bought their phone from a discounter. WalMart sends their customers to us for information and tells them to come back and buy from them to save money. When we learn this we tell the customer they are on their own if they buy their phone from Costco or WalMart. We will not spend the time on them because it is wrong of WalMart to do. If they refuse to give their people the tools to really help a customer then they should not sell the product.
Shop them sometime. They will probably try to sell you T-Mobile for price and never check your coverage. Everything is price, price, price. As if there were no other considerations in owning a product. If I'm committing to a 2 ...

Their employees aren't good enough to work at mcdonalds 😈
...
I have hired some of their former employees and they turned out to be petty good employees. We have also had some apply that failed in an interview badly.
...
It's true. That's what I use. I tell them if you want to get your service from someone who can't help you later on then go right ahead. Don't come to me if you have issues with your service. You gotta go to Walmart where you purchased.
Then I uppercut them in their taint and launch them 4 feet in the air. Good times!
...
🤣 good stuff
you know what else is funny. we had a data training and wal-mart employees were there. throughout that whole week i stopped at wal-mart only to see that the 5 people that were at the training werent even selling phones. they were stocking shelves, glossing floors, etc.
...
And come to work for folks like us.
IF they are any good at selling and service why would they accept $8 an hour? They don't. They jump ship (as they should) and earn more money for their trade skills.

When I moved up here to Flagstaff I took a job at the connection center in Walmart. They interviewed me twice and hired me on the same day and I just needed a job. It sucked miserably and within three months (keep in mind that was my first cell phone sales job) I was over here at the Cingular indirect in the mall. This job is way better, we receive more training, and the pay is better. And I don't have to deal with the complete and utter morons that shop at Walmart.

Exactly, Wal-Mart does not have it in their business plan to try and educate their customers. In and out as soon as possible.
The commercial the epitomizes their strategy best is the HD Big screens commercials. At the end it says "Get yourself smart first at walmart.com..." Why? Because there is not anyone there who can do it for you!
...
what sad is that, asurion people have more training on the phones for cingular than walmart.
...
Wallyworld is a very good general merchandiser for towels, dish soap, etc. They do an OK job at selling things that a customer can walk around the store and just throw in a shopping cart.
Cellular phones and service are not like that. Because we ask the customer to commit to us for 2 years we need a lot more information and expertise. WalMart does not offer nor are they interested in the customer service end of the business. Setting up service and educating a customer so they understand what is happening to them and what they can expect is not their strength. All they care about is undercutting the other guy and hopefully putting them out of business. They don't even care if they are profitable in a product category. They are the evil empi...

Walmart was once one of three discount stores in our small town, the stores were spread out in different parts of town and all got business. This was the day when discount stores did not get into every business know to the retail world. Maybe some of you would know these names...we had Roses, Howards, and there was Walmart. Today Roses and Howards are gone and Walmart has moved there store to the far reaches of town on one of our interstate exits. Now they sell all the food supplies, gas, and change your oil, sell tires, Cingular, Verizon, have a drug store inside, a bakery inside, did have McDonald's inside and took that out and put back a Subway. Our small town has basically dried up per retail... most of the shopping centers that once ho...

Everyone can do there part in the fall of the Walmart empire! every time you go, just slightly damage something to render it unsaleable if thats even a word! and on ur way out ram ur car into a cart!

The hope and help may come from the DOJ in the form of labor law violations and Anti-trust law violations. If they lose any of these suits it will cost them billions. I ran a cellular kiosk in a WalMart and I can tell you that the rumors about how employees are treated are true. They seem to like to manage their people by belittling them.
...
As much as I hate Walmart, the government needs to stay completely out of businesses. The whole anti-trust law thing is ridiculous. Do well enough to run all of your competitors out of business? The government makes you break up the business and you get in trouble for being successful. Stupid.
...
The anti-trust laws I am speaking of are the predatory business practices of pricing most of the products well below cost until you force the local business out. It is illegal in every state. After the locals are gone the prices jump up to where the locals had them.
Then the economy of the area can't even support the WalMart and they go, devastating the economy of a rural market.
It has happened time and time again.
I am not talking of new legislation, but enforcing existing legislation.
...
I close the sale on 90%, or 9 out of 10, of customers who bring up a Wal-Mart price.
Just go over all the FREE items you offer and pretty soon Wal-Mart is actually more expensive.
...
Free stuff as in...great customer service or free stuff as in car chargers etc, etc?
...
Memory Exchange (we have a UME-36 which also will do pictures, unlocked ringtones, videos) - $20 value
Free SIM exchange even with PUK block = $25 value
Free lifetime accessory exchange on Cingular branded cases, CLA
25% off Bluetooth headsets
Not to mention all the extra handsets from which they have to choose. Wal-Mart carries what, 5 or 6? We carry 20 or so?
Pretty soon $20 to $50 doesn't seem too appealing. Factor in the knowledge and the potential to save them money and/or hassle on service issues and WE have the lowest price. Can't tell you how many times someone comes in with a question and we immediately have the answer. The response is always the same, "Why didn't they know that?". If you don't know the market a...

I was going to say I was at Walmart the other day and I asked if I get a discount because of who I work for. I was told they don't give any discounts because their phones are so cheap to beging with 🙄
Anyways I would rather drive 50 miles to go to corp store than go through Walmart or Radio Shack -- oh by the way A cust told me Radio Shack offers their own insurance and that they cannot get their phone replaced for lost/stolen ? Have you ever heard anything like that?
...
Radioshack and Best Buy push their own extended warranty. But it is not designed to cover lost/stolen and they (usually) do not offer Cingular's insurance as it competes with their own product.
...
thats the same as car toys. their insurance is 200 dollars at time of purchase but does not cover lost or stolen phones.
...
ok when i was at walkmart they just call in to activate the phones anyways how pointless!@
