i travel back and forth to europe several times a year--mostly Italy--but some UK and Spain. I would like a phone an a compatible network here for the phone that i use there and here now (attwireless): z600. I also live in the Tampa area in Florida. That said, is Cingular a good choice for me. I have tried their help lines and emails but can't get a consistent answer.

i have sim chips for my european countries but if i put a Cingular sim chip in here, tampa, will the phone be functional.

thx for your help.

it supports GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 NOT 800...is the Cingular network primarily 800 based? if so that means i would have very limited coverage--or does the 1900 pick up where the 800 leaves off?

thx

They will be limited... as i found out just today, we don't run 800 & 1900 everywhere... there alot of places (mostly the metro areas) that are strictly 1900... but few strictly 800... so he might not notice it but yes he will be limited to strictly 1900... and will notice it in the few 800 only areas
