I work for a company currently using nextel basicly for their PTT feature. Has anyone swithed to Cingular PTT from Nextel and if so how would you say they compare. I work in Northeast Ohio just for comaparison of coverage area. Thanks in advance.

Are you serious. While I hate nextel always have regardless of the merger with sprint who I have. NO company can compete with their PTT. I doubt Qchat can either but we will have to wait and see!

And I doubt you will get any argument from anyone on this matter. Even the most die hard fanboys of Cingular, verizon, and tmobile or alltel won't argue this!

don't get me wrong, nextel's works great. but for christ sake, it's a walkie talkie.

no watter what company, it's the same thing, you push a botton and you talk to the guy. the only reason nextel's is better cause they were first, so many companies have it, or alot low/no credit people have it. if you want to use it for your company, ptt is a great aspect, but you gotta think about network too. unless you want to hear "please wait while we locate the nextel subscriber" or "sorry, we can't locate the nextel subscriber"

All other companies PTT solutions basically do the same thing, but the speed of the connection is not as fast as Nextel and never will be. Next year Sprint is supposed to be releasing their Qchat phones from what I have read they have gotten the latency down to less than a second, if this is actually true it will be the only technology presently available that will be able to compete with the speed of Nextel. If Qchat is as good and fast as they claim it will be the best PTT service available since it will...
