I just bought a Sync and love it, except for a frequent volume fluctuation in the earpiece. It is only noticeable when there has been a pause in a conversation and speaking resumes. When the other person resumes speaking, the first part of their sentence is soft, but rapidly gets louder up to normal volume. There is a thread in Howard Forums where other owners of the Sync have noticed the same thing. I found another thread where owners of the CU500 have complained about the same thing. One user stated that it was a "gate" issue with the gain. Is this a defect that accompanies 3G phones (I am in an Edge only area)? Can anything be done about it? Does the Blackjack have the same issue? I love the Sync, except for this.
