I bought my phone during the time when cell phones where locked by Cing. Since the unblock ruling by the govt, is there anyway to trade in my locked phone for an unlocked phone. Yes my phone is in perfect working order with no wear shown on it since i take very good care of it. Also if i get an unlocked phone from the Cing retail will it still have the Cing branding on it aka the locked and unremovable ringtones and capabilities?

Thanks for any info given in advance!

You can contact customer service and put in a request to get it unlocked.

You don't actually purchase ringtones, you purchase a "license" to use it on the device you downloaded it to. (unless you make it yourself).

Even unlocked, all the Cingy software will remain unless you get it flashed, but you'd probably have to send it back to the manuf. to have it done.

honestly there is really no purpose for unlocking the phone UNLESS
a. u go over seas and want to use a prepaid sim card over there .
b. u want to flash and update software on your phone to open up the door to extra or locked unavilable features

so really if your a regular user there is NO reason to unlock it because u prolly aren't gonna do either of the 2 above .....
