In its call, the company made it very clear that it's going to use Apple's (AAPL - news - Cramer's Take) iPhone to get customers from Verizon Wireless (VZ - news - Cramer's Take) by giving away its service for a year and a half to those customers who buy the phone.

this doesnt sound right. Im sure its not their monthly plan they get for free but maybe some other feature perhaps?

Possibly a data plan? The EDGE speed would seem to make an expensive data plan aimed at business users to be overpriced. I bet AT&T comes up with some discounted or "free" data plan offer that doesn't really amount to much. Probably severely limiting texts and MB per month with steep overages. Couple that with a "deluxe" data plan that would be heavily pushed at retail locations.
