Phone warranty/repair?

Since today I'm officially a Cingular customer 😁 (15-day trial ended), I was wondering about the phones that I ordered through SBC.

I talked with a Cingular rep who said they have a 1-yr. warranty (SE T637's), and I could take them to a Cingular store in my area if they should need repair or warranty work.

Is that true? I hope I'm not going to hear I have to send them back through SBC when they don't even have my phone on their site anymore.

warrenty works like this you get a one-year manufactor warrenty. that does not cover things like loss stolen, liquid damaage, or physical damage. Those problems I would advise getting the insurance 3.99 a month $50.00 deductiable.

warranty covered occurences are now handled by our XBM program (Exchange by mail). no need to even stop in the store anymore, unless you want us to give you an "expert" opinion as to your issue. non-warranty covered repairs should be able to be accomplished by stopping in your local store and asking what their procedure is. there may one particular store you need to go to to have the work done.

If it's warranty, I guess you call and they send you a pre-paid mailer? Or are you saying the store sends it out?

Do you get a loaner phone while it's out for repairs? No fee?

There are only about 5 repair stores in my area, so if it was non-warranty, guess that's where I'd have to go.

Thanks. 🙂
