S710A questions?

first off the expansion slot is for sony memory stick duo's right? what is the max capacity in the SE, from what i see sony sells them up to 1 GB, will the S710A accept that?

Also what is the headphone jack on the S710A? is it one that i can plug any standard headphones in?

overall hows the quality when listening to mp3's...is it decent? and also how loud is it through headphones comapared to a real mp3 player or a cd player?

att/cingular problems

my friend she had att before they changed to cingular she changed her plan in the middle of the month and was not told about the prorate which i think they are required to so she calls customer service which is now cingulars customer service and finds herself speaking to someone in india that has NO conception of what the problem is or how to resolve it and he could barely speak english she asked to be transferred to someone higher up and had the same problem so not making any headway she then went into the corporate store(annapolis md) and was told that their hands are tied and that she HAS to call #611 period ive never heard of such stupidity are there any call centers located in the states or did the corporate store tell us a funny story?...

BT Headset Problem!!!! Jackie, Help!!!

I bought the Jabra BT250 at the Cingular store to work with my 6230 and it seems to break up alot and if it isn't breaking up, it is causing alot of static. But if I stop using the headset, or stand or sit still while using it, all the problems stop. It just seems to be a problem when I am moving around. Is this a problem with the headset, phone, both, or just an expected issue when using BT???

Great Call Today, Made ME Laugh!

A hispanic Gentlemen called in today and asked why his phone was unable to dial 900 #'s. I had to sit there and laugh on mute for a moment. I then explained to him that Cingular/ATT simply do not support those SERVICES on his phone. He was upset because he was told at the store that he could make long distance calls. It was funny I thought.

PLEASE HELP REPS!!

Dear Cingular Reps-
I am need of some imediate assistance! i have a customer who signed up for Cingular in a different city than where I am at. He moved to my area where Cingular does not offer local numbers or very good service at all yet. He wants to switch to T-mobile (due to lack of options) and still use his Treo 650 for T. I have tried to sell him every phone equivelant to the 650 that T-Mobile has but he says no, he says "find a way to use my 650 (he means unlock) for T-Mobile and I will send a business to you to activate all their phones through you." Needless to say, I am trying my hardest to find a way to unlock his 650. Can anyone help me PLEASE?! I will be forever in your debt if you can. Thank you so much

I, for one, believe...

I have been thinking about this and I know this is probably so against policy, but has anyone else on here questioned their "higher ups" about "consolidation"? And by consolidation, I mean the stores. I have seen my quota stay the same even though there are a total of seven stores in my mall that carry Cingular... 😳 I work in one of two company owned stores in my mall (one orange, and one blue), but on top of that there are five agents, and not even "premiere agents". I know that I was told that after January the company was going to start not having "non-branded" agents anymore, but now we are sitting in April with the same issues. And on top of that, they just changed out pay structures, making it harder for us to get money by cutting...

A Slap At The Cingular/T-Mobile Network Dispute

So I became really bored today & dug around the phonescoop.com. Look what I found in the news archives:

Date Posted: May 25, 2004, 9:27 AM
Source: Cingular / T-Mobile

Cingular Wireless today announced it would end its network infrastructure joint venture with T-Mobile USA in New York, California and Nevada. Cingular will sell the California and Nevada network and certain accompanying spectrum to T-Mobile USA for approximately $2.5 billion. Cingular will also receive 10MHz of spectrum from T-Mobile in the New York area. The transaction is contingent on Cingular’s acquisition of AT&T Wireless, and federal approvals. Both Cingular and T-Mobile customers will be unaffected by the deal.

Can a CSR confirm this?

I live at the zipcode 24060 and till today, Cingular.com coverage check showed up as no coverage on my area. Today, I tried it again and it doesn't say no coverage but rather "Washington D.C./Baltimore" although I live in Southwest Virginia, down at Blacksburg (home of the Virginia Tech Hokies!). Can a CSR confirm if you have coverage here or not?

P.S. also, any new phones coming to Cingular within a few weeks? Thanks!

PTT

In a November article posted on Phonescoop, it was announced that Nokia had released software for the 6620 to make it PTT compatible and that it was released to the carrier who would then release it to the consumer. Does any rep on here have any knowledge as to the availability of this software?? Thanks.

Samsung P-207 and Motorola V635 availability

Phonescoop shows only the Samsung P-207 coming to Cingular and not the Motorola V635, though there is rumor that they could pick up the V635 as well.

Both of these phones show market availability around the same time...late March into early April. Check out the specs on them.

Two nice looking and feature packed models at that. Does anyone have more info as to when we might see them coming at Cingular, at least the Samsung model or both?

Whats up with this!??

Kinda in the line of the "how in the Hell"'s...
Customer brings in a Motorola v120:
Customer: "my phone dont get reception"
Me: How long have you had that phone?
Customer: about 3yrs now
Me: have you considered buying a new one?
Customer: no, i have been buying minutes (prepaid) for years now, i need a free phone.
Me: well, if you do a 2yr contract you get a free phone.
Customer: ill show you it doesnt work (he proceeds to dial a number, and PRETEND to hit send. He then has a PRETEND conversation w/himself...) "see i told ya that it drops calls"
Me: I thought you said it doesnt get service?
Customer: it dont, and it drops calls...
Me: can i see the phone please? (i look at the dialed calls list and ask him what # he dialed.. Ther...

Motorola a630

Sorry for those who read this thinking this was some info about the a630 release but its not...

Like I mentioned before I am new to GSM. I noticed on ebay some people are selling unlocked QUAD BAND a630s. They claim the 850mhz/1900,hz is unlocked. This means that its pretty much a Cingular phone and shouldnt have any problems working on the Cingular network right?
