does cingular even WANT to compete?

Im a 3rd party rep, and Tmo is killing cingular with the 45.00 1000min + N/W package. can any retail/company owned stores shed light if cingular has new promos planed for Febuary?

on a side note, ive noticed that theyve degraded the attws plans to make migrating look more tempting. guess they werent pleased with all the attws customers sticking with theit att plans(which were better).

Buying on Amazon

I'm on ATT and I wanted to just go ahead and make it official and switch over to a Cingular plan, I know I already am kinda, and get a new phone. Is there anyway I can sign-up for a plan and get a new phone through Amazon.com and keep my current number? Phones are so much cheaper there than directly through cingular.

Also, are there going to be any advantages/disadvantages with the service or plans (not phones) if i switch right now or wait a month?

Thanks

Jan 16th prices

For those of you in the Dallas market (ie. Will), our prices changed yesterday. The 1yr price on a Nokia 6010 is above the normal $50 difference, at $69.99, according to our pricing sheets. Does anyone else's confirm this, or has someone made a big typo?

Best way to make calls to USA without a contract?

I'm a Verizon customer but I make a one week international trip a year. I just bought an unlocked GSM phone and am planning a trip to Mexico. I see tons of cheap pre-paid Cingular or T-Mobile Sims on ebay but it looks like calls have to be originated in the U.S. The Telcel Mexico Sims are at least $60 and need refills or else they quickly die. Does any U.S. carrier sell a pre-paid SIM card that can originate calls from Mexico? I found a site with a Mobal SIM that is about $2/minute without a contract and it is billed to your credit card. Is this the best deal?

New Customer Question

This may be a little off base, but does anyone know at what cost Cingular offers service to people with less than perfect credit? I am with T-Mobile now, and their phone selection is thin and reception in my area is covered much better by Cingular. I am still working to clean up my credit after someone stole my wallet and ran up my cards in a day.

Put this in your pipe & smoke it

I am feeling a little indifferent today. I was actually going to post this on another thread, but I figured wtf... lets give it its own life:

🙂 😁 ☚ī¸ đŸ˜ĸ 🤭 😲 đŸ˜ŗ 😕 😎 đŸ¤Ŗ 😡 😛 đŸ‘ŋ 😈 🙄 😉

I get so tired of people thinking that if a little something extra is offered free, the company will go bankrupt. Minutes are cheap & hardly cost the company anything. The things that cost alot are TOWERS, EQUIPMENT & PAYING EMPLOYEES. but minutes are cheap.

When I say this, then people start saying that the little things add up & I need to look at the big picture.

Then I will say to go screw yourself, I dont care about Cingular. I dont care about rollover or the fact that the plans suck.

The...

First Bill charges

Hi,

I just got my new cingular phone yesterday ( I am a new customer ) and I notice a charge of $93.38 on my cingular online account. I have the GSM Nation 450 plan.

I just wanted to know if this is a mistake or am I charged activation and plan fees for a month and half or something. Any clarification is welcome.

Also if someone could tell me how to find out how many minutes I have used currently, apart from the online account.

Thanks
mojama20.

Cingular Discount Question

I have a question about a military discount on my wireless phone. It seems it might be more productive to ask my question here than waste 15 minutes waiting for Cingular support (which, btw, blows most of the time...besides having to wait an eternity, often the reps are useless, or they tell me I called the wrong place and make me wait another 20 minutes)

Anyway, support hating rant over, the organization i work for has a site contract with ATT, where we could get something like a 15% discount on ATT plans. I started working for them after the merger, and I have a Cingular plan. Since they are the same company, am I eligible for this discount? I tried going in store, and they told me since I have an existing plan, I would have to call...

Two SIMs?

I just upgraded my t616 to the free t637 phone (2-yr. extension). Since I'd earlier tried the Moto v551 and returned it, I also have both the 32K and the 64K SIMs.

What happens if I plug-in both SIMs? My real purpose is simply to have both phones active so I can personalize the 637 to match my settings on the 616. However, I'm also curious if I could leave the older phone in car or boat, just for backup?

i have the new 64 bit sim cards how do i know if its workin or not?

I just bought the new sim card and popped it in my phone is there a way to see if its workin? I know this may sound like a silly question but i guess i was expecting dramatic changes in my reception but i still have dead spots at the same places as i did b4. I there a way to notice a change in reception? Or was i expectin too much outta this lil sim card

Cingular Idol

What is up with the people who run cingular.com? They've been sending out emails and promoting cingular.com/idol and it was supposed to be up today. I just went there and it still says "Coming Soon."

First encounter with cingular

I was in the mall during my day off picking up a few items when i walked by a Cingular kiosk (a corporate location.) My wife and I have been talking about moving to an area where my company doesn't offer service so I thought I would ask a question about employment to one of the workers. I went up to the kiosk and introduced myself. The lady there gave me a worse look then any upset customer has ever given me. I could tell she was thinking "what the hell do you want," or something along those lines. I explained my situation and asked if she could tell me what the starting pay was for a Cingular sales rep. She very snottingly replied "none of us would ever give you that information." I apologised and went my own way.

I can understand...
