June 20th Plan Changes?

Anybody know what the new GSM Nation plan is going to be? I'm assuming the extra lines will go up to $19.99 each, but will there be any changes in minutes or monthly charges?

How do I get Cingular out of town

Im out of town (Las Vegas) until July 6. I went to a Cingular stroe today and tried to get a phone and port over from ATT but they said they could not do that! I have to be in LAs Vegas to do that.

Is that true? Sounds kind of strange to me since this is a national network and you can get them all day on the internet!!!!!

International Phone and plan

Right now I have a nokia 8390 and cingular service... I've been waiting for a upgrade... I like both the 6620 and 7610 that are coming out...

My family and I are going to be traveling to Greece for the Olympics at the beginning of august, I hoping to have one of the above phones by then with international service... Right now I'm leaning more towards the 6620 because of the infared port.. I'm planning on bringing my laptop witch also has a infared port, and ideally using EDGE internet on my laptop in Greece... Is this just a pipe dream? and are either of those 2 phones internationally capable?

What other options if these aren't possible?

Powerbook + T616 + Bluetooth = Internet?

I am trying to figure out what I need to do/configure/buy or even if I can use my connect my powerbook via bluetooth to my T616 and get on the internet. I tried calling Cingular Customer Service, but did not have any luck. I spoke to 4 or 5 very nice people, but they either didn't understand what I was looking for or just had no clue.

I have all the necessary part & adapters on my powerbook to make the connection to the phone and I make this work regularly when I was with AT&T, but I have yet to figure it out with Cingular.

TIA!

? on GSM 800 (850) and International GSM

(This is a cross post from the AT&T forum).

I'm currently a Cingular customer and am now looking at my contract options with AT&T as well as Cingular. My situation is that I travel extensively (U.S. and International). I would dearly love to have just one phone and swap out SIM cards as needed.

As well as my Cingular contract I have service in the U.K. with o2 (GSM 900/1800) and in Australia with Optus (major cities GSM 900/1800 rest of country GSM 900). Of the countries I travel to the most, nearly all have GSM 900/1800 services (the exception being Japan - but that's a whole 'nother ball game anway ;-).

My concern with getting a new phone and service with AT&T or Cingular is the use of the 800(850) band as well as the 1900 band...

Switching phones... same SIM card?

Hey all.... I am currently a Cingular customer with the T616 and I was wondering the whole deal on switching phones (unlocked ones?) without neccessarily having to deal with Cingular. For example if i wanted to get a GSM phone off of ebay or something can I just pop in the SIM card and have it work? How will I know witch ones would work and which ones wouldn't? I have heard stories of how Cingular SIM cards only work in Cingular phones... is this true? Thanks!

Network Size - AT&T's is bigger than Cingular's...

Just to make you all aware, this is FACTUAL information:

Before you go making any uneducated decisions, I thought you may like to know that physically, AT&T Wireless does actually possess a larger network than Cingular. These roaming enhancements that everyone comes cracking down on AT&T for also benefit Cingular. For every person that says "I have AT&T and I didn't have coverage where I was, but then these enhancements came out and I did" there is a person that says "I have Cingular and I didn't have coverage where I was, but then these enhancements came out and I did". At least AT&T gives all their customer's the benefit of the doubt and their phone's alpha tag says "Cingular". Most Cingular's phones say "Cingular Extend" when they are ...

Nokia 3300i

Hey guys,

i was looking at my price sheet this morning about to order some phones and i saw the 3300i on there from Nokia. I know they are trying to get rid of the 3300 real bad by putting it on the website for free, what is the deal with the 3300i, does it just have IM on it or something? anything on this?

THanks,
mac

unlocking phones

if i were to unlock a phone and put it on cingulars network, would the phone display cingular???
I've seen some cingular customers who were sold an att phone or a tmobile phone from shady agents and their phones displayed the other carriers name even though they had our service. May be a stupid question, but i want my phone to say cingular and nothing else.
