WCDMA/UMTS

Is t-mobile going to WCDMA/UMTS netwoks like Cingular AT&T? If so, when will this change be?

Well, yes and no. Yes T-Mobile is moving to WCDMA/UMTS but will use the 2100/700 MHz bands for it instsad of the 1900/850 MHz ones like Cingular. You just have to wait for a) T-Mobile to build the infrastructure and b) for those bands to get cleared out. T-Mobile won bandwidth in these bands in every market in the US, but some were already in use by others and they have to wait for them to "clear out"
So it's coming but not like next week or anything.

My contract is up in 2008 you think it will be cleared up and going by then?

sure why not, and at that time cingy should have their HSPA+ up and running or close to it, with its 28 Mbps downloads, and 11 Mbps uploads. 😁 ....i would be amazed if cingy did reach that mark but who knows

as far as i know 3rd quarter of this year (2007). so around aug/sept. at least thats what umtsworld.com said and t-mobile international.
