does your contract auto renew when your old one is up or do you pay month to month after its over. ive heard people say theirs auto renewed after their old one was up. true or false?

false. your on month to month when it finishes, some CS reps get customer to re-sign agreements with the promise of monthy services dicounts or one time credits on the account which is the only reason your agreement would renew. that or a plan change was made.
