Yes i know the wing doesnt have hotspot @home. But it does have Wifi hotspot capability. So my question is, all it would need to work for Hotspot @home would be a software upgrade on the Wifi? A customer is in Question, he wants the wing, he wants the hotspot @home. I mentioned the curve, but he wasnt interested. What do you guys think????

Unfortunatly no. In order for a device to utilize the voip, it actually has an extra internal intena, one that is different then the gsm and bluetooth ones that are already installed.
While software is involved, it has actual physical pieces that the phone needs.
Sorry!

Sorry, antenna. I was at work and trying to hurriedly type the message. The point was still made.

Theoretically, as the Wing already has WiFi capabilities, you should be able to do it with a firmware update.

The real question is when will T-Mobile offer that upgrade or will it be marketed as a new phone.

You didn't read the other posts for this topic? There are physical components that are necessary that the Wing does not have.

According to my sources it is more a matter of firmware than hardware.
With both WiFi and GSM antennae already built in; it should be a matter of having the firmware updated to make the switch.
That was what I was told by HTC techs concerning my TyTN device and it was implied that it should be the same with other devices as well including the P4350 (the Wing).

Please note I also said "theoretically" in the first post. The information I was given could very well be wrong, but it's also quite possible it is not.
Getting condescending doesn't do you or anyone else any good.

I happen to have it on authority, and you can believe me or not, thats all up to you, but it is just a matter of the software. The next phone to come out with the hotspot at home ability will be a blackberry. There will be an update soon for the other tmobile phones with wifi, however it won't be offered through the tmobile site. It will be offered through HTC and Blackberry.
