Benefit to buying at store?

Rangoon

I'm curious. I have a Sprint plan for our small business that has 9 lines and we share a pool of minutes. We are going to break off 4 of those into a separate plan as we have split business interests and need to have them segregated.

Now, I am thinking of going with T-Mo because the data plans seem to be a better deal than Sprint.

Is there a benefit to buying in the store as opposed to Amazon or something? 2 of the 4 phones I am moving to new service will be either a Wing or Dash and will have data plans, the other 2 will be the cheaper type or "freebie" phones. If I am getting data plans anyway, the Amazon price is much more attractive and the Dash is $ 0 as opposed to $149 after rebates thru T-Mo direct.

If I go to a T...

My experience is you get better deals other than Tmo stores. Amazon is trustworthy. I had bought cell phones from Letstalk.com before, no problems.
Right now you can get Wing and Dash for free with new contracts at letstalk.com. Of course I am just a consumer, no relations with Amazon or Letstalk.

Not always true for people that pay outright. Authorized dealers, in most cases charge more for their phones.

That's why I said "my experience". It's always true to shop around for better deals.

You wont get herpes if you buy at a store. Shopping online leaves you open to all sorts of viruses.

If you're getting the data plans anyway...you can go through Amazon or Lets Talk. Just hope you don't have any problems, or need help with the phone, because going into a TMo store after activating high-end phones with data plans online is just like slapping them in the face. The rep won't be very happy about helping.

Activating 4 lines, with 2 data plans...they might be able to discount 1 Dash/Wing, but definatly not both.

Thanks. I already assumed the customer service would be better in person, especially if purchased there. But money is money and there seems to be great discounts with phones and qualifying data plans that make it seem hard to pass up.

However, I do like to shop locally. I may stop in an actual store in a few days and talk to someone and tell them my intent and see what they can come up with.

The only pro of buying phones online or over the phone through third party companies is the low cost. other than that you would have to worry about a secondary contract through amazon or any third party company. so if you had to cancel early (within 6 months) instead of $200 it is $450.

anything bought online or over the phone would have to be exchanged or returned the same way you recieved it. you cannot bring any phone purchased from third party to a corporate store. even anything purchased on the coporate t-mobile.com website needs to be returned through them.

in a store you have face to face communication, you can return the phones at ANY corporate store in the US, and you get all the proper paperwork and contracts in hand. And all...

If you go to any EXCLUSIVE T-Mobile dealer they can work on the prices. Probably they wont be able to match the amazon or any other online price but they can give you better deal than the T-Mobile website. If you are interested let me know about your market where do you wanna use the phone and will be happy to help you.
Thanks.

I work for T-mo exclusive dealer and I will not help anyone with problems when they get a phone online, unless right from our website. I used to but found that in most cases when you get a high end phone for free it's a refurb. This means that there is no manufacturer warranty and if the phone dies there is nothing that can be done except buy outright which will out weigh the cost of buying new for $150. Also, if someone buys in my store I will go way above and beyond what they expect for service and help with their phone. I've delivered phones to homes, and even done some exchanges when I wasn't supposed to. Most of the time there is some wiggle room on price but chances are no store will actually be able to match a data phone for free...

Careful on the companies that have multiple mail-in rebates. All of them require the original skus off of the box...and well, you only get 1 sku, so therefore could only do 1 mail in rebate.
