Hello,

Could anyone please tell me what the new t-mobile flex pay plan has to offer.

Im aware that you buy the phone at full price. And also that you pay for your minutes and everything BEFORE you use them.

Any other info would be appriciated.

Thank You.

you can go to a t-mobile store, if you just want the monthly plan, there is no credit check, but you do have to have photo id to activate. lance is correct, there is no activation fee, you just pay for the phone, accessories and first months service. there is a 4.99 monthly fee that t-mobile will waive if you agree to set up ez-pay and have your montly payments taken directly out of a credit card or bank account. if you have an old t-mobile phone or have a friend that has one they'll let you have, you don't even need to purchase a phone. this has been happening a lot at our store. keep in mind that if it is an older phone or a phone that is unlocked to run on the t-mobile network but not made for t-mobile, some of the features (like myFaves)...

There are two different types of flex-pay. There's Annual Contract and then there is Month 2 Month. With the annual contract you don't have to pay full price for your handset, you get the same discounts as postpaid customers, you do have to pay for it in advance however as well as for your plan and any taxes and also there is a $4.99 monthly control fee for each line activated, you can have that fee waived by signing up for easy pay which debits your payment from your bank each month. There is no activation fee. No overages. If you run out of the whenever minutes in your plan, you will not be able to use your phone unless you using your my fave feature or unlimited nights and weekends or have money in your flex account which is like a piggy ...

Can they port over my cingular number? If so, will they charge me?

Is it worth swiching from cingular (IE: Rate Plans, Fetures)

I was thinking of the sidekick 3. Which is 399.99.....

or my other alternitive is to sign up with HELIO and pay $195 for the ocean, plus a 300.00 deposit....

Either way im forking out money...but a little less with T-mobile..And i dont have to worry about the contract.

I gots a question...

With Flex Pay, when you use up your minutes, what happens? Does the line stay active and allow mob to mob calling (if feature is added) and night and weekend minutes (if you have that type of plan)?

I've read in other postings that they have contract versions of Flexpay. Can we switch to a flexpay type of account if we're already in a contract with another tpe of plan?

The reason I ask these questions is cause we got a girl that likes to text and talk. We have her on a kids choice plan but you can't get more texts without paying up the ass for prepaid and you only get like 10 texts for $75 that way.

What would be cool is if we could put her on a flexpay so that when her whenever minutes end, it cuts her off ...

m2m, nights, weekends, myfaves will all still be available.. very similar to kid connect but when you need more minutes, it is 20 cents a minute, but you need to start a flex pay account, which is purchased a $10, $25, $50, or $100 prepaid cards.

as far as i know... if you are eligible for "post paid" then you are pretty much at the highest credit level. flex pay ios more for "less than perfect credit" customers. or if you didn't want a contract... no information is availible for conversion yet.

not for another 45 days atleast.. they put a 60 day suspension on any convertions to or from flexpay.

Here is the deal with Flexpay.

If you are willing to do a credit check then tmobile can check your credit. If you have good credit and you would qualify for their regular plans at that time you have the OPTION to choose a flex pay account. It would be a contract just like the other plan but these are the things that are different:

The price for the phone. Won't be like 200.00 unless you are getting a really fancy phone.

The way the bill works. When the minutes are used for the month the unlimited features like myfaves, night and weekend and mobile to mobile can still be used. This means that she will NEVER cause overage charges on the bill.

When you pay for the bill. At the time of purchase you will pay for the phone AND th...

Here's how flexpay works...you go to a retail store or call 1-800-TMobile to set up service. In general, FlexPay is dependant on credit (replacing the previous Smart Access and Deposit programs) There are two categories of FlexPay; There's FlexPay M and FlexPay N. With M you're still eligible for free phones, 2 lines on a on year contract, you're not eligible for certain types of plans such as Hotspot@Home, Blackberry Data add-ons, T-Mobile Total Internet and Caller Tunes. Your activation fee will be waived (this is promotional and will change in the future) and you will pay for the first month of service at the time you make your purchase. With this FlexPay plan, you are eligible to convert off of it after one year much like you could...

rodeogirl, you seem to be very well informed: does Flexpay N offer any kind of BB services? And do you happen to know when prepaid numbers can move to Flexpay?

Thanks in advance.

Prepaid numbers can't go to flexpay, but you can use any messaging plan, text plan, etc.... that T-Mobile has to offer. I have an internet plan on one line and my fiancee's line has a Sidekick plan, and we're both on flexpay.

that is correct. t-mobile's official policy is that you can't port over a t-mobile prepaid number to flex, you have to have a new number issued. of course, you can use the phone you currently have if you don't want to pay for a new phone, and you can port in any number from a different company that you could on the regular plans. you can have a blackberry plan, whether stand alone or as a bis or bes add on. right now at least, there just a few features that you can't have: hotspot @ home unlimited feature, you can get a hotspot phone and router for the coverage, but not the add on, and strangely enough, callertunes. 🙄
