Verizon customer considering a switch.

hello all. I'm currently with verizon with their lowest plan with text, phone insurance. etc. Bill comes out to about 50-60 bucks a month. i wouldn't complain if i had been getting the service that they were hailed for. anyways with the release of the curve and hotspot @home I'm really tempted to switch.

i want to be able to tether the curve to my desktop at home with has no internet currently and use the internet via the curve to do simple stuff like sending e-mails and web surfing.

I'm assuming that I'll have a t-mobile hotspot username and password to access hotspots at starbucks locations, so does that mean I'll be able to use my Playstation Portable to access the internet?

you actually have to have high-speed internet to get the hotspot@home it would work as a tether to your laptop if you had signal, but without having the internet and a wireless router, you would not have the wi-fi at home 😁

so regardless of the unsecure wireless network my other wireless devices can pick up, i won't be able to use Hotspot@home?

You have to have an broadband internet connection to plug the router into to have [email protected] or not it deducts from your minutes is an extra feature but it sounds like you wouldn't need that anyways. Your PSP should be able to log into a Hotspot being that it detects wifi signals but I don't know anyone who has actually done that.
