Safe to buy an unlocked phone?

I have T-mobile and would like to explore maybe getting an unlocked phone from some other manufacturer, perhaps not even a US one. Is it safe to use an unlocked phone on T-mobile? Will Myfaves still work? Will the web and all that work? Thanks for the input!

It should be no problem if you get an unlocked phone. The phone can be configured to use internet through T-Mobile. Also the myfaves will work, you just wont have the icons on your phone. You can manage your myfaves on your MyTmobile account, in a corporate store, through Customer Care, or even on T-Zones through "myaccount". Just make absolutely sure you put in the right number, because if you invert some numbers you will not notice till you get your bill. And T-Mobile will not credit any overage because non-myfaves phones are not officially supported. But if you double check the numbers you put in, you should never run into this.
