Which Sidekick is best?
the Slide is has a smaller screen, keyboard, battery life, and it's made by Motorola (which i don't really like), but i can get it for 99.99 with my new contract, as opposed to the LX: bigger screen, better battery life, bettery keyboard, not made by motorola (woot)
etc, for 299.99. I'm not sold on one or the other, and it's not a huge deal that the slide is made by motorola.

honestly its all about personal opinion. i guarantee that people who reply to this will say the lx is better.. they both have the same features and like the comparison you made before. people will say the lx is better just because it flips open

The Slide has some software problems (surprise surprise). There was a recall on them shortly after they were released to fix the problem of the phone shutting itself off when it was closed. I still see them do this on occasion. I would get the LX to avoid any long term problems that may develop with the Slide.
