I have FIOS internet and television with FIOS which is owned by Verizon. My @home does not work with the router supplied by Verizon. I was wondering has anyone else had a similar problem?
...
to my knowledge you need the tmobile router to do the @home.

You oughtto be able to use any existing router the T-Mobile branded routers offer better battery life, a gated pipeline giving priority to calls and customer care and tech support only troubleshoot T-Mobile routers and are able to access them from our systems. It may be that Verizon has somehow sabotaged the service as they do to Bluetooth on their handsets for their subscribers....

this is NOT true
I used to have TalkForever phone once, can connect to my home LAN (uses VZ DSL), and worked 100%

I live in Dallas and we had an electrical storm that ruined my Verizon router. The old one worked perfectly. The new router is the one that is giving me trouble. The new router assigns a different MAC address to my phone, I now run the T-Mobile unit and the Verizon router. It works but I don't like having two wifis at the same time. T-Mobile customer service was excellant in helping me with the Verizon router. Verizon would not discuss T-Mobile and was rather rude about it. I did cancel my phone service with Verizon.

actually, I'd prefer the DSL modem, wired router, and several wifi APs, and some wiring (or homeplug)
looks more complicated, but this is the best solution, and good for larger houses

Great idea, Thanks! I did not think this was going to be a big project. At least your way I will have wifi in and out of the house.

I need a few details to help you trouble shoot this issue:
What phone are you using for UMA?
Will your phone show "connected" to your network, but just not make a call?
This will get us started.

Curve. The phone connects and I can send and receive email and get on the internet with my Curve. When I call or get a call it connects for about two seconds and then drops the call. It does not transfer the call to the cellular network.
My old Verizon router worked perfectly but because of an electrical storm I received a new router. I now plug the T-Mobile unit into the Verizon router and that works. The rub is I don't like having two wifis running at the same time.

It is a well know issue that the Curve is the only UMA phone that, when being used with a non-Tmobile router, it will not transfer over the calls. It will drop them. This will not happen when you use the T-mob router.
There could be a few things going on here... It sounds to me like you manually connect to your wifi from the Curve, then when a call comes over it switched to GSM and you lose the call? Correct?
If so this is becuase in your settings you have "GSM Prefered" selected in your wifi setup. So what is happening is.... You manually connect to wifi, a call comes in... and becuase it's set to "GSM Prefered" it tries to swith over. Then becuase of the Curve issue with a non-Tmo router... This is where you are dropping the call.

Justin:
I do have wifi preferred. I am running two wifi's and it is working. Over the years I have learned that if it is working don't fix it! I put the two units as far apart as practicable.
I really appreciate you helping me on this problem. When ever you answer someones question I always read the answer.
Thanks!

Do you have the latest software version of the Curve? An update came out that fixed most of the problems with the curve dropping calls.
...
Yes, T-Mobile customer service had me check. It is the most recent. Thanks, Any other suggestions will be appreciated!

Not a problem.... That's the main reason I surf these forums is to help people as much as possible.
