You said that you took the free Samsung, that was the "upgrade". You have 14 days to return the phone. Why they forced you to buy a phone amazes me, reps dont get paid out on the free phones at all anymore. If you wanted to just extend the contract, you can do that through customer care. But I suggest you stay month to month if your phone still works, its no different than being on contract. You usually only want to go on contract if you want to extend it to get a discount on a new phone.

my individual contract expired and i went month to month for couple of month and then i extended with the myfave family plan.

i paid the upgrade fee and still using my unbranded phone. the sales rep said he has to ring up a phone in the system in order to process so i took a free samsung phone.

i didnt get a new phone since couple weeks ago there isn't any phone i liked. i was waiting for the bb 8120.

Well the only rateplan we have availible right now that would extend your contract 2-years in the Unlimited plan. Any other would only do a 1-year, yes even the myfaves family promo. What that rep did was perform and 2-year handset upgrade, it extended the contract and used up your discount. I would go back to that store and talk to the manager, return the Samsung and get the Pearl 2 as it released the 14th.
