I heard this morning from a rep at the local tmobile store that they were going to offer the Mororola V3 Razor phone in February (which has been offered in Europe for some time). Does anyone have confirmation of this?
Thanks.

T-Mobile will not be offering the Razor anytime soon. As its too expensive. Come on 500.00 for a phone.... thats too much thats more that half my monthly rent for my Apt.

its very expensive yes, but 500, in my opinion is worth it, however, the bigger concern is that NO INSURANCE COMPANY WILL COVER IT!! that is the most important thing!!!

In my opinion the RAZR is all hype... Nothing to spend $500 on.

that could be true, but you know how us consumers love to spend 300-500 on new phones with new technology. if it was covered by insurance i bet alot of people would get it.

anyway... i would spend 500 for the phone if it was backed by insurance companies, but since it isnt, i wont.

I think the phone is all hype. It offers nothing new except a very thin (yet wide) design. That's what makes to so expensive? Pfft. I could do with a typical sized clamshell for $350 less.

Aside from the design, the RAZR doesn't really offer anything remotely special, except all the complaints I've read about it in the reviews section.

The phone isn't worth it. The thing doesn't even have video. Its like the V220 but flat. Thats really the only difference. That and its quad band.
For what it comes with, its not worth the cash. You can't even use the standard motorola chargers or headsets with it. Its bluetooth or nothing (which bluetooth isn't that bad) but you would think for the cash you'd get a choice. Cingular won't insure the thing. The only way to get it insured is to put it on your homeowners insurance. 😡
Be careful if you add lockline on with customer service. I'm not saying all of them do it, but some have been adding it on, people break their phones, and come in here to get them fixed. They were paying for it, but the insurance is not honored because of the...

well, i have to say that the phone is worth it. i dont have cingular, nor will i ever, but that phone i think is a great phone. i know cingular wont insure it primarily becuase a. its too expensive like you mentioned, but b. its very expensive to make. no one wants to take the chance that it will break again and again and thats how the insurance companies lose money.

fyi again i dont have cingular, but if i would have cingular i would get that phone even if it was for 500 bucks.

all and all its not a bad phone, if it was cheaper it would be better. I just wouldn't pay for the size of the phone.
I'm just saying that the v551 has a lot more going for it than the v3 at a fraction of the cost.

First off whoever started the thread can't spell. Razer. Come on. Secondly if your bits and pieces go rigid over the super thin phone compare the specs with a V600 since they use the same chipset, processing board and bluetooth mechanism. T-Mobile will not be offering it as it does not meet the reception thresholds we set. On another hand it is true that T-mobile does have a $500 phone in the Samsung P735 and if you know ANYTHING about cell phones you know Samsung has better reception and a much lower warranty rate than Motorola so I doubt they would replace a Samsung with a Motorola. Another thing about T-Mobile is that we use Asurion for insurance and they do cover expensive phones like the P735 and even handheld devices that are currently...

To keep from being embarassed in mobile forums it would be good for you to know that it's not the Razor, or the Razer. It's the Razr. You will be labeled as an extreme newbie if you spell it in either way that you spelled it.

The problems with the Samsungs are the battery life plus the latest one does not have Bluetooth or speakerphone. Plus they do not sync up to the auto-time network feature.
Are there any other phone on the horizon for T-Mobile?
