Can somebody PLEASE tell me why some indirect dealers are selling nokia 3390's as "new" phones? (amongst other models) I mean I know if you're a customer it's your choice and you make the decisions, and if you accept a free 3390 with new service-it's on you...but why? We have so much better than that available for free!

Yes! I ask the same question to some of my friends who buy old "free" phones than new "free" phones. People who do that is b/c they really don't care about how the phone looks or what features it has. They just care about the minutes not the phone. As long as they have something they call off in case of an emergancy or just to place a regular call.

It's called consolidation, and making the sale. They are more than likely getting rid of old stock to those who dont really care so they can concentrate the newer products on those that do. It's a good concept if you use it right and dont screw the customer by making them think they are getting the latest in technology and style. I would scoop up a 3390 for FREE in no time if given the option. 😉

...in this case I mean presenting the customer with a 3390 as their only choice of a "free" phone.

Also, I've had several instances where indirect deals sell used phones to smartaccess customers telling them since they're smartaccess, that's all they qualify for...now thats a huge heap of B.S. free 3390 or not 😉

Man, this ticks me off! When I activated I was already working for customer care and didn't qualify for an employee account, so I went to an indirect dealer who told me that since I came up as SmartAccess I had to pay full price for a phone, which at the time meant 129.99 for an R225. 😳 I proceeded to tell the salesperson that she was full of it, went online and two...

The other night (am I'm usually very nice mind you) I chewed a dealer a new a$$ hole. He calls in and just casually says hey I'm trying to upgrade this customer but I can't because her contract isn't over so I need you to change the contract date so I can do this upgrade.

So, I was like ok hmm, let's look in the memo's and see why the contract is showing that it's expiring in july. He quickly interrupted me and said it's a mistake-that our system did it when she changed her pricing plan (which granted it does, thats why we bomb a quality score and get written up if we don't pay attention to that when changing plans an the contract isn't supposed to be renewed) So, I went back to that date and low and behold-what do we have? 3 wonderful m...

😁 Wow, good job. Don't let anybody tell you what your job is. You know T-Mobile better than him, since you work for the Direct Corp, unlike him. I have went to some InDirect dealers and have had them tell me things, that I know T-Mobile wouldn't do, and would you believe I am a T-Mobile Customer for almost 4 years now! So, I know T-Mobile better than som indirect dealers! 😁

So at that point is when I ripped into him...I said I really enjoy the show you're putting on for the customer to make yourself look like the hero, I also understand you are refusing to give our customer the options she really has because you want to get the upgrade commission which again we cannot change contract dates, and if you're a manager and knows all our policies by heart then #1 you know better than to ask us to reverse a perfectly valid, legal contract and #2 you know better than to escallate and make such a scene as this-the proper channel for disputeds is your regional sales manager. So he fires back with "look I'm not a $#cking child don't you dare treat me like one" So then I added and using profanity in a profes

No kidding, what an arse! I detest those dealers with an unholy passion and I use my sweetest, most reasonable tone when I let them know that I know perfectly well what they're doing and I'm not going to let it happen, (while I'm writing up special instructions to make sure it ain't gonna fly by calling in and getting someone less experienced than me!) and that I'm also not going to let them talk to me in anything other than a completely professional manner... Those jerkwads completely tarnish the reputations of all the good, hardworking, honest dealers who do the best they can for their customers while not trying to invent neat new ways to screw the company... 🙄

I had that happen to me to where it was the only free phone so I went somewhere else because I knew other stores/dealers that had color phones for free
