LX is better. Improved screen, better camera with flash, and a 3.5 mm headset jack so you can use your favorite headphones with it. It is worth the extra money.

As far as colors, the Slide will have a scarlett (red) colored coming out in about 2-3 weeks. The LX: there is rumored to be a Tony Hawk limited edition coming in July that is not confirmed.

Get a blackberry. Their messaging services (im, email, text, mms) is the same if not better than the sidekicks. They have a much better keyboard as well. The rubbery texture of the sidekick makes texting a hassle, and once the "coolness" of the flip up screen feature wears off, IT WILL NOT BE WORTH IT. The Blackberry Curve, despite what is look in pictures, is quite slim and sleek. The Sidekick is alright for a teen, but if you want a cool, business-savvy, original phone, you will not go wrong with the blackberry curve.
