I'm sorry but on T-Mobile networks, a Samsung product will lose signal before a Motorola or the Siemens phone will.

Different phones react to different environments. I had nothing but problems with my V300. (and yes this time I'm actually talking from a customer standpoint vs. an employee standpoint). It would continuously show I had adequate signal, and call connection was horrible, TONS of dropped calls, and sound quality was bad. I've had a samsung V205 which is over 2 years old, just sold it on ebay actually for $80 and never had a day's trouble with it. Same as my Samsung R225...wonderful phones. I'd personally recommend a Samsung over a Motorola anyday. I have a sidekickII now, and LO...

I'm on my second Samsung and I've loved them both, ultrareliable, easy to use, good sound quality, hangs onto a call like grim death... wouldn't mind a few more fancy features, but I can deal for the reliability aspect. My only beef is that the ringer could be louder on the E105 and it seems to hate its handsfree kit. Maybe I'm just getting deaf or something... 😡

You're not deaf, the ringer is not the loudest on that phone. I remember my customers coming back in to complain about that fact.

Hmmm, you have a point... I ought to try some of the 3GUpload ringers to see if they make a difference, but I keep hanging up on the cognitive dissonance that something that says "free" costs money, and the clause in the agreement that says they'll just keep charging your card every six months unless you beat them up to get them out of your pocket... Can anyone recommend a site for decent, actually FREE ringtones?

I love Samsungs also, but it is a fact that the E105 has slightly weaker reception than any other phone that T-Mobile offers right now. It's not a big deal, but I don't recommend it for people that live in spotty coverage area. My general experience is that Nokia gets the best reception indoors, Samsung does the best outdoors (usually), and Motorolas are actually very good all around phones for signal strength also. The problems people have with Motorola phones dropping calls, or used to, are due to problems with the phone's software/hardware/firmware, not necessarily the RF.

Funny, my E105 is great, and can hold a call flawlessly in areas where my R225 was kinda iffy, guess we can chalk it up to the vagaries of the EM gods. I can't help but wonder, though, if some people have personal electromagnetic fields that are inimical to good reception--it would go a long way to explaining why some people have endless issues with their phones and others never have a bobble... Maybe the stupid rays emanating from their heads have a "white noise" effect on the 1900mHz band or something... 🤣
