purchasing 2 lines from amazon

looking at getting a 2 line family plan but want to get a deal that is currently on amazon. anyone ever had problems getting rebates from amazon when you sign up for 2 single lines and then afterwards changing them over to a family plan? a630 is only 119.99 out the door and then -30 after rebates, hard to pass that up 🙂

Yeah... like you have to wait six months to send for them. Wanna guess how many people actually remember to do it after that long? Or how many of those actually fill out the paperwork properly and on time? The hilarious thing is that people who buy on Amazon often spend MORE on their phone up front because they think they are getting all this money back. Many brick and mortar locations will beat the up front prices and then offer you the standard carrier's rebate, which you can send for immediately and takes 3 months tops.

but like I posted the a630 is 119.99 up front on amazon while 299.99 on t-mobile.com so even if I don't for some reason send the rebates in its still alot better deal and there are no corporate stores in my area or anywhere close by just crappy little auth agents that barely even have a phone selection or discounts to speak of 😕

alot of times with the "up front" deals, though- they ask you to put down a "deposit" on your credit card for a few hundred dollars, and they won't tell you that up front...again, that's in the fine print. They will put a hold on this "deposit" for 90 days or so to protect their commission on the sale, as they aren't making money AT ALL selling the phone at that...

thanks for the advice man 🙂 I'll do that, I read the rebate info and couldn't see any fine print about changing numbers or anything along those lines, maybe I should email them and see if they will cough up any details

lol it's ok...the handle "bizkitsngravy" actually came from the name of band I used to be in...nothing special, just a garage band, but our name was "bizkitsngravy".

nothing to do with food, or that I'm from the south as many think lol....

trust me I can be a butt if I'm preterbed enough, but I'm generally very nice and polite.

(you should hear the comments, conversations, and hand gestures towards the computer screens we sometimes have at work while the customer is momentarily placed on mute...it's actually quite funny-some people get so worked up, but it's a really good way to vent and not take it out on anyone)

Two things -
1. They will not give you a rebate if you change your number and if you port at activation, you could go weeks without service - but you will have to pay for that time - either to your existing provider or to T-Mobile
2. Why ask for opinions when your mind is already made up? Many people have told you to beware of "sounds too good to be true" situations and yet you argue with them. Does that make sence to you?

I was actually asking if anyone had done it themselves before and if it worked out, I wasn't asking people if they thought I should do it just based on their opinion. while I appreciate all opinions given I was more looking for direct experience with the question. and my options are pretty limited in this area so its not like I can choose from a pluthera of good t-mobile stores, the internet is pretty much it

i did this last year and recieved two v300's in about 6 days....sent the rebates for tmobile in as well as amazons rebates and recieved them within 4 months...worked out great b/c i only paid $20 each for the phones when it first came out and it was $199 at tmobile...idk how ppl r so stupid and buy the phones from tmobile at their rediculous prices...amazon is so much cheaper, and as far as my experience with amazon thus far....its been great! 😁

Can you renew your contract through amazon and get a cheap phone with rebates?

im thinking about doing the same thing. fine print says you have to wait until you receive your second invoice from tmo showing that you have paid the first months invoice in full. (i think this is to prove you didnt ditch the service and keep the phone) other than that, everything seems straight forward. i have purchased a number of products through amazon w/ & w/o rebates and never had any issues. (knock on wood). im thinking about the a630 and the nokia 6600, im just nervouse because i here there is little to no reception in buildings. i just might take advantage of that 14 day trial.
