Sidekick ID died...now looking for a new phone (TMO plan question)
OK so now I'm looking for a new phone cause my sidekick id died, now seeing as i'm on that special "data plan" with a sidekick if i contacted TMO and told them to cut that and just give me the basic unlimited texting and what ever my family is on will they charge me for a new phone and a new contract or what?
or should i just not even bother with TMO find a new phone snag the sim card out of my ID and roll with that?

It depends on how long you had the ID. I would call customer care and see if you're eligible for a partial upgrade or a full upgrade. Either way, you'd be renewing your contract for two years. It might be worth just buying a T-Mobile or unlocked phone somewhere else and dropping the Sidekick data from your plan to avoid the contract extension.
