Flexpay month to month and an existing tmobile phone
I was given a tmobile phone a few weeks ago and currently I don't have tmobile service but just heard about the flexpay month to month thing they offer and interested in going that route but I was wondering did I have to buy a new phone from them or could I use the one I have? It is used but I just saw the same phone on tmobiles website so can it be activated on the month to month flexpay?

You can use the phone you currently have. You would just go into the store and pay for the plan you pick out. They should give you a free SIM card with activation.
