Thinking of switching to T-Mobile

So I am really interested in the T-Mobile Sidekick II. Right now I have Verizon and honestly I cannot see a reason for leaving them other than the fact that the Sidekick is so sweet. So my question is how is the service with T-Mobile because I'd hate to go through the hassle of switching if I'm going to be disappointed.

Go to www.TMobile.com, and enter the site by clicking on phones, plans, etc....on the gray toolbar that goes across the screen, place your cursor on coverage, and from the drop down menu select nationwide/national coverage. It may ask you to enter your 5 digit zip code. Once the map appears, to the upper ride hand side, there should be a seperate box that says "check coverage in your area" then a short line or two about our personal coverage check. If you select that, imput your address, or any major intersection, and it will show you a more detailed, color coded map to give you a better answer than a genereal "yes you will have coverage" or "no, you will not". This would be the best way to tell from just looking at a map, but remember the ...

hey bitz I think you missed another question I had a few days ago, hope you won't mind answering it. if you get the sidekick with the data package, can you use another phone on the account as well using the sim card? or will the voice and data not work correctly? and if you can then can you also use that phone to connect a pda or pc for data use? thanks bud

sure no prob, I'm not sure what package you are referring to, however if I'm understanding your question correctly, you are wanting to use a regular phone simeloutaneously with your sidekick, with the same sim card? It's possible, more so a pain, but possible...all you'd have to do is switch your sim cards between the devices.

Actually I do the same thing, but for a different reason. I have an unlocked Panasonic GD-55, that's about the size of a matchbox...seriously...but I don't much like taking my sidekick with me if for instance I'm going out, and want to have a phone with me just in case something happens, but not the sidekick as it's a bit bulky to take to a club or concert, and certainly not safe, even if I left it in the truck......

yes man that helps out alot, tossing back and fourth wether I want to go for smartaccess with a sidekick or not, kinda limits the minute plan I can choose, but I want to be able to access the internet if possible, was also looking at using webviewer from reqwireless and use the 4.99 unlimited wap but wasn't sure that would work or not

the $4.99 T-Zones is just wap, all ports are not enabled, thus limiting your browsing to wap sites only from a normal cell phone (not including the links contained within T-Zones of course specific to T-Mobile such as alerts, communities, and downloads etc...) Most normal cell phones do not have the ability/memory to view html pages. wap is just more simply written in more of a text based version with the same content, and not all "www" pages have "wap" versions.

So, the only reason one would normally activate a data feature on an account where they just have a cell phone is for the pda/laptop internet connection purpose of not using airtime. Otherwise, T-Zones will enable unlimited wap browsing from your handsets wap browser, and that's...

yeah I had a similar plan to yours, one unit for data and surfing, another for general phone use and just switching the sim cards. I was looking at the mot a630 as well but still kind of seesawing on that on, and yeah 300 mins is kinda low, amazing how much you lose for just 10 bucks less than the next plans up, wish I could get unlim data with smartaccess, btw how is that little panasonic phone? does well for ya? 😁

eh, it's OK...I got is as a last minute, and I mean LAST MINUTE thing for a trip to hong kong...needed an unlocked phone to use on a pre-paid hong kong service, and not enough time to have one unlocked through T-Mobile so I ordered it off of e-bay and got it in a day.

It's TINY! nothing really special, it has a wap browser, and polyphonic ringtones, but no color screen or really any other extras, t-zones, once I loaded the settings into it for T-Zones works fine, but the phone itself is nothing impressing, just small lol. most of the girls I showed it to say "oh look how cuuuuute! I want one, I want one"

The signal isn't great on it, but it's sufficient.

sidekick option for another $19.99

it's like my GetMore internet combo
600 anytime (no nights, however, I changed half the way on my contract, requiring contract extension to get nights) and free weekend + internet (WAP included) for %59.99

Your question really has no merit (sorry) but you can't just ask "who has the best service" since there are many factors that influence if a service works for you not the least of which is it depends on where you are as to what kind of service you get. Even asking how service is in a certain city isn't legitimate since reception and performance will likely vary from on...
