Laziest customer EVER!

Aleq

Okay, this really jumps the shark. Customer calls in, wants his voicemail box reset. I figure he means the password, since forgetting VM passwords is pretty much a given. Nope, wants the entire box reset. I ask why, he says it's because he doesn't like hitting 7 to delete the messages. Check the memos and this guy calls in every couple of days to do the same thing! Too lazy to push the buttons on his bloody phone, but will waste his and our time calling in, waiting on hold, dealing with the speech IVR, going through account verification--all because he can't be bothered to delete a message when he gets it...

Customers... 🙄

Maybe because it's free minutes to call 611?

That would almost make sense, except that he had to call VM and listen to the message in the first place--why not just hit 7 while the message is playing to dump it, because to keep it saved on the system requires a button push as well. And if he just doesn't want to GET voice mail, why not turn the forwarding off on his phone? It's customer logic...

Don't tease me, I have this list right here... I keep hoping for an IQ specific plague that only kills those with an IQ less than 110 or so--I figure I won't lose any friends, resources will be plentiful afterward and the level of discourse will be considerably elevated!

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! 110? You may want to lower that a notch. There are some folks on here that are highly entertaining with considerably lower scores.

Yeah, I was going to say... that's a little bit of a high standard. Not that I would have a problem, of course... 😉

Oh, he means well, J. He's probably just got an IQ of 190.

Well, it's not quite that--190 puts one up there with some amazingly brainy and weird people, but I didn't have much trouble with the Mensa test... Didn't bother to keep up with the dues and such, I'm not much of a joiner... ("he was always such a....quiet.... man") *snicker* 😳

When I picture hot Mensa girls, I see them being rigid and pains in the collective ass.

Smart girls are seldom rigid and/or uptight, it's the stupid, rule bound ones you have to watch out for. If a smart girl is telling you no way no how, she means it's no--for YOU! 🤣

I'm in no position to tell you what a smart girl wants or doesn't want...I recently celebrated "Singles Awareness Day" for the first time since I was 19.

Uh, actually a guy made me aware of it by screaming "Happy Singles Awareness Day!" across the production floor at me. I thought it was funny.

It's not a question of laziness, it's a question of resource allocation and keeping overhead low by reducing the number of calls per customer per year. Every time a customer calls in it not only costs the company money, it also means that there are that many fewer available minutes of rep time to attend to issues, longer hold times and increased customer dissatisfaction. Quite frankly, it is a benefit both to the company and the customers that self help options be available, easily understandable and fully supported by care reps who educate customers on how to use them. Costs stay lower, reps spend their (expensive) time...

Exactly. Operators used to have to manually direct all calls. Imagine if it were that way today, it would be a lot more expensive and during peak calling times you might have to wait a long time for an operator to physically connect your call.

And people STILL think that customer care = operator! I get calls from people who think I can break in on a landline call and connect them to another number, it's crazy...

Thats funny!

Kind of reminds me of a customer I had once at VzW who came in to my store and asked me if I could help him with his voicemail box. I say sure what seems to be the problem?

He says he hasnt ever checked it and someone just recently told him that they got a message saying it was full. So I say no problem we get him into it (wich I was surprised btw that he remembered his password) and I say just listen to them and delete them and you will be able to recieve voicemails again. He does this for a couple minutes says Isn't there a way we can just delete them all? I say yes, but that means that you will have to set your voicemail up again. He says no problem, so I delete and re-add the feature. I Get him into it and then he gets...
