Behold with out a data plan

IKONOS

All,

I was wondering if you guys can help me out.

1) My wife loves the behold and is content with voice and text. Is there any way you can get a Behold with out getting a data plan?
2) Is there any way you can get a Behold or a BB Curve with a cheaper data plan like the 50MB data + 400 msgs for $10 bucks.
3) If you can not get Behold, is there any other phone that is of better quality and looks than Behold that does not require a data plan?

Please do not say buy the phone at full price and you dont have to pay for the data plan or something like that. I am hoping i would not have to pay more than 50-100 bucks for the phone after discounts and MIR.

All smartphones will work without internet(and yes, the behold IS A SMARTPHONE), except for the G1. However the rebates are tied to the data package. I believe the only possible data package that will qualify the behold for it's full rebate is the $19.95 web2go unlimited individual texting 100MB data pack, unlimited family texting for $19.95, or unlimited individual texting for $14.95. Other then that you can most certainly purchase the phone with no data plan on an upgrade, but you will not recieve a rebate, so the price of the phone will be $200. Even with the rebate though, your still paying $150 after rebate. So i'm not sure what to tell you as far as a behold-esk phone for $50-$100.

I just want to add we currently have verizon wireless and out of contract for a while and is planning to switch to t-mobile. So are any new subscriber promotions that can help me with it?

T-monster - Thanks for the information.

This is incorrect. Well, at least some of it. The Behold is not a smartphone, at least not in the industry definition. Just because it has a full browser doesn't make it a smartphone. It has virtually no expandable capabilities. It does however fit into the smartphone category when it comes to T-Mobile's data packages. That means the $19.95 web2go unlimited individual messaging 100MB data pack will not work. It uses the same data plans as the G1 or Blackberries: $24.99 for Unl data and 400 messages, or $34.99 with unlimited messaging. Either one of these will qualify you for the MIR, as well as the Family or Individual Unlimited Messaging Bundles.
