3G Expansion in Mesa Arizona

GIREVIKS

May 5, 2009, 1:30 PM
I don't know if they are activated yet, but Ive been seeing crews doing work on dozens of T-mobile towers in the Mesa area. Ive noticed one of the antennas has been either replaced or another one added to these towers being worked on. Presumably they are being upgraded to 3G. Im using a 3G iPhone right now but if the 3G coverage on Tmob gets decent enough I wouldnt mind saving 25 bucks a month on voice and data by switching over. I use like 150 minutes a month, ATT doesnt have a 29.99 plan unless your a senior, which Im not, and unlimited text and data is 15 bucks a month cheaper

So is TMO expanding their 3G and if so where?

Because it sure hasn't been here in "TMO's backyard."

When did they start rolling out 3G because according to the phones in the closest store and their coverage map, 3G still has yet to expand to my area.

And what really ticks me off is how is it that TMO's 3G can extend in a 'U' shaped pattern? Particularly in my area, non mountainous, suburban. You've got 3G to the left, you've got 3G to the right, but none in the middle. 😡
Of course we're talking miles here but shouldn't it blanket the whole area?

There is a huge plan to increase this year. Several markets per quarter. The Foot print from what i hear should double or more by the end of the year.
