What's up with T-mobile.com bringing the Samsung T-409 back?
Hello??!?! That phone's been discontinued for a while and all of a sudden it shows back up on T-Mobile's website today. Can someone explain this to me?
And why is the RAZR and the V195 still there for all that matter?

The RAZR hasn't been discontinued, although I personally believe it should be. It still sells like crazy surprisingly...
The V195 has been offered online only for a long time. Its probably because T-Mobile has a bunch in stock and Motorola won't buy them back. Funny thing is, I still have customers coming into the store that want to buy that phone...
The T409... can't explain that one. My guess would be they had a lot of stock in supply for warranty exchanges or something, and now they want to get rid of them.
Every carrier does this to get rid of excess stock.
On the website right now there are a ton of discontinued phones:
T819
W490 in pink and heather grape
Orange 5310
T639
Nokia 6263
V195s
ROKR E8
Nokia 3555
T409
T219

The nice thing with online is that the phones are offered a lot longer than retail. Just because a phone is discontinued through retail doesn't mean it's discontinued altogether. Yes, in a retail store, you're going to get a newer phone...but typically (from what I hear from my customers) we have a lot greater availibility online and through telesales. It's all a relative thing, a lot of people like the fact that we have phones longer than retail stores because they gain interest usually by word of mouth.
