No they do not. And its not because they don't want it. The two technologies are not compatible. At least for now. Rumor has it there is a team researching ways to make it work. Its one of the reasons why T-Mobile doesn't have a 3G blackberry. RIM is absolutely sold on UMA, as am I, and they want to continue offering this feature to their T-Mobile customers. I'd expect they will offer a 3G blackberry soon so people will have a choice. Hopefully they will find a way to make the two technologies work together, but for now we have to choose one or the other.

Well that doesn't quite make sense. I thought UMA was basically Wi-Fi and software. Where as 3G is just another radio on board the phone?

Could it be true? 😲

Motorola Morrisson with T-Mobile 3G and UMA hits the FCC
by Nilay Patel posted Jul 29th 2009 at 7:44PM

Well well, what's this? Seems a certain Uncle Sam's been poking around the lab with the Android-powered Motorola Morrison, and published his findings to the "World Wide Web." And hey -- are those T-Mobile 3G bands with UMA support we see in these action-packed RF reports? Why yes, they are -- too bad Sam didn't see fit to include any actual pictures of his new toy. Still, we've got a feeling this is one unreleased Motorola we'll be getting our hands on real soon.

Yeah, I saw that as well. However, if you checkout www.tmonews.com they've been tracking this as well. It showed up originally as having UMA, but every bit of leaked info since then has removed UMA as a feature. We'll have to wait until it gets closer to launch to confirm this. TMoNews has some good sources, and engadget has also been in line with what tmonews is reporting.
