Was t-mobile on gsm 900 in america

I was reading bout the Sony Ericcson T610(discontinued). It was a gsm 900 phone. How did they work this phone on a 800 network. 😕

Yes, the Sony Ericsson T610 was/is a Tri-Band phone that *supports* 900/1800/1900 mhz. That just simply means it is capable of operating on those frequencies. T-Mobile only operates 1900 here in the U.S. There to my knowledge has never been a 900mhz frequency band in the U.S.

However, there is a Sony-Ericsson T616, which was AT&T and Cingulars version of the T610. It looked identical in every aspect, and had all the same features etc...However, this phone had 850mhz instead of 900. Even though 850 and 900 are close, they are actually completely different.
