Questions about unlocked phones
I currently have a BB
with the ecomnomic times as they are I'm trying to save as much as possible.
I'm not up for an upgrade. I was looking into getting a cheaper phone and maybe trying to drop the internet down to something cheaper, if not completely. I was looking at some phones online, that are unlocked and can be used with Tmo service. Can I still use the internet and go down from BB data to something cheaper?

It depends upon the phone. If its a smartphone it will probably need the same type of internet. The cheaper internet plans (web2go/tzones) used to work fine, but I've had several customers who have been running unlocked iphones on old tzones plans who have come in because their internet has stopped working. T-Mobile has been working on their systems to prevent smartphones from using internet with a non-smartphone data plan. So the answer is complicated: officially, you need to have a data plan to match the phone for it to work. However, the system is still not perfect so some people are still getting away with it.
