T-Mobiles expantion into rural markets
Lately I have seen a lot of coverage expansion in Western Oklahoma with actual T-mobile service. Is this a sign that T-mobile is trying to level the playing field in rural coverage or is it an attempt to patch their network gaps since AT&T is tightening it's rules on roaming. Either way I don't see much gain from this other then reaching markets that Verizon and Sprint have limited access to. Unless perhaps they are supplying equipment to oil company's since they have a lot of wells in that part of the state and they have to monitor those wells. Is this only isolated to Oklahoma or is it everywhere?

Actually, I have noticed some rural parts of southern Utah that I couldn't get service in before now have service, so it seems to be happening in at least a couple of places. 😎

Actually here in Southeastern NM, T-mobile has expended in alot of areas. Roswell, Down past Carlsbad on US70, and even west and east on US 70 and 380. T-mobile is beating out any company coverahe wise. There are alot of people who have either signed up or are going to. Keep in mind that anything not ABQ/SANTA FE is considered rural here in NM.

Well that is good now if they would just expand into the Dakotas and more places in the middle of the country. When I went to South Dakota I noticed the lack of coverage their even AT&T lacks coverage their.

Seriously? I thought Alltel had solid coverage in Oklahoma which Verizon would have gained when it swallowed them up.

That's so funny they don't cover but maybe half the state the only CDMA provider here that covers most of western Oklahoma is in competition with AT&T and T-Mobile. They do seem to have good coverage in the eastern part. When I go to Caldwell Kansas which is only about 40 miles away they pick up where T-Mobile lacks. It seems that GSM is more common here then CDMA.
