I wanted to try Verizon & get the Moto Droid, but the $$ was too high for 5 lines, long story. So, I've fallen into the T Mobile black hole & I'll be here another 2 yrs. ☚ī¸

I am finally ready to upgrade my BB Curve & I'm certain I want an android phone. I got the Cliq to try & it's a good device if you turn off all the Moto Blur stuff, but it's not perfect. So, now I'm unsure what to do. Do I wait to see what's coming out in 1st QTR '10? I looked at the Behold 2 & the specs don't seem better, just a better AMOLED screen. The G2 (HTC Hero) is out in the UK & the Nokia N900 will be soon. Are these better options than the Cliq? Should I return the Cliq & wait? (the G1 & the My Touch didn't provide enough benefit which is why I got the...

Personally i'm not a Moto Fan. If you want a full keyboard i'd say G1. if you want all touch i'd go Mytouch.. The Mytouch has a longer battery than the G1. Those are my thoughts. I hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply Fleance2k5. I mentioned the G1 & Mt Touch in my post & considered but not offering enough to buy. Was hoping for more batt life than the G1 & a better camera (5mp), etc..

Hardware-wise most android phones after the G1 are going to be pretty similar. Same processor, RAM and ROM. The camera on the Cliq and Behold 2 are both 5mp, but the Behold 2 has a flash for the camera. The only issues that you'll run into with the Behold 2 and Cliq is that they both currently run 1.5 (cupcake), so until they get 2.0 (eclair) they can't get the Google maps update that gives them the voice navigator. The G1 and My Touch both currently run 1.6 (donut) and can get the navigator on top of the other advancements provided by donut. But as for the 2.0, HTC has said that due to hardware limitations the G1 may not be able to update to 2.0, where as the My Touch will be able to update to 2.0 when it releases for all Android devices.

Thanks Debo,

That's really useful info. My hope is the G2 Touch (HTC Hero) is released quickly here, & I think it will be upgradeable to the 2.0, which for me is the whole point of buying the more costly phone, otherwise the G1 is a lot cheaper. I love the specs for the Nokia N900 but the weight is something like just under 7oz, pretty heavy. I think the G2 will be the best choice for me but I will look into that Sony, probably not coming to TMO with my luck.

Thanks again!

Actually , since you mention the Hero, there were images leaked of it running 2.1 (which is the first I've of anything beyond 2.0). And yes, the leaked images were confirmed. 😁
