As far as warranty's go: The manufacturer will support the phone model in question. If you happen to get a phone that is broken for a reason that justifies an exchange, that's the same model you will get, and once they're expired that's it...weather it be one day or a month.
The reason/process for this is T-Mobile as a courtesy processes exchanges for you ahead of time (as in we send you the new/refurb phone first then you send your back in) rather than the alternatives out there such as giving you a loaner phone for 30 days while your phone is sent back to the manufacturer for repair, or having you send the phone yourself. Of course, my warranty ran out a few months ago and the only alternative I have from t-mobile is a $70 refurbished E715 with a 3-month contract, or a new one for $125 but with a 12 month contract extension and a free std bill after 6 months.
