Former T-Mobile Customer (6 Years), Now AT&T Customer (surprised if I do 2years) seeking input......
- have been through decent coverage but I expected it. (Quick Question here for T-Mobile Customer Service and Users - Has 3G in the DFW Metroplex improved even a little bit? Zipcode is 75077 where I live but I also travel on the Pres George Bush Tollway either E or W as well so this would need to be better 3g coverage for my purposes as well. I had tried the G1 a year ago in this very area and it was miserable. Calls started to sound like vocal morse code.);
- have seen the Customer Service experience from just good (only because T-Mobile then had no idea about T-Mobile's issues and lack of 3G coverage but would have been better otherwise) to OMG! WTF?!?! When will my head explode or when will I get my next migraine? LOL; AND
-have device reliability issues with the Samsung Eternity a867 phone I purchased from the start of service. I have been through 2 device switch outs on both of my lines already and THE PROBLEMS ARE STILL CONTINUING!
To be specific about my third point, for a phone that is a non WinMo device, it occasionally freezes up and locks but more often than this, it powers off at random, very often in between phone conversations. Under the pretext and stipulations of their so called "Warranty Exchange Program" (which is useless by the way. Read on and you'll see), they basically say that they would switch your device into one that supposedly satisfies your needs AND FIXES THE PROBLEM. Yeah Right!!!!! The 4 models from the get go offered to me all seem to either be inferior or have the same problem that I am trying to get away from, all of which I have listed above. Eventually after alot of back and forth and a few McEnroeims along the way (Just think, had my wife been on their, these probably would have been Serena Williamsisms, lol), they eventually offered me more choices since they knew I wasn't budging on to their initial set of choices. But a good majority were inferior (e.g., non touchscreen, lower reputed brands, etc) with the exception of the SE C905 and Samsung Jack, which they had the data plan contingency tied with it, even if the customer was not going to use things like Text Messages, Outlook Sync or whatever else is in scope but rather would use Wi-Fi at home using say the Verizon FiOs Hotspot locator application offered by my FiOs Service at places like Starbucks or Barnes and Nobles amongst others.
I could go on and bore all of you to death but I'll just get to the bottom line now: I'll be moving from AT&T soon but don't know where. I'm considering the Big Red and keep my Telecom Infrastructure at Home entirely Verizon relevant. OR I can go back to where I was for the past years before this but that would be gauged on things like current 3G coverage in my area and device availability and reliability (I'm looking at the My Touch 3G possibly on both lines). I realize that with the Androids the Data Plan is a strict need just as it is with the iPhone with AT&T and Apple and I would probably accept that since it is a lesser expensive plan than AT&T's plans @ $30/month.
I would appreciate the input any of you could provide me. Thank you in advance!

I ported from T-Mobile last year (Black Friday 200😎 to AT&T due to issues with their "then up and coming" 3G Coverage. Now, just over over a year later, I:

go to t-mobile.com and click on the coverage map. Then enter in your address. Or go purchase a phone and plan and if you are not happy return it prior to the end of the buyer's remorse time frame and you should probably expect your samsung to reset. It seems all samsungs do it.
Not entirely true as far as your Samsung Statement. I had the same thing occur with a G1 when I had it on Buyer's Remorse last year. Maybe it's a Smart Phone specific behavior.

I already know that I can go to the coverage maps and exercise the Buyers Remorse for 14 days. But I wanted to get some "Real Time" feedback from other T-Mobile Users in my area before I personally take the plunge. As a potential Customer rejoining my older carrier, I think I'm within my rights to ask for this.

Potentially or not I still think those are the best suggestions. Mostly because someone in your area may not go to the same places you go to including your home or work. For example. My house vs. my inlaw's coverage is completely different even though they are not far apart. I would suggest doing the buyer remorse. You can "port-in" your number later too so it wouldn't be much of a plunge. It's just a recommendation and not meant as a insult.
Your intentions are very well taken. It's just that I was looking for very specific feedback. If I were to make a decision based on the outcomes I experienced with 3G from 11/2008, it wouldn't be justified. And before even taking so much as a pl...
