Cell Phone Refresh Rates

I have used Samsung, Motorola and Nokia phones and find that the refresh rate on the Nokia's is the slowest. In my office building, the Motorola will always refind the T-Mobile signal quicker than the Nokia. Does anybody have the same experience? Has anybody talked with Nokia tech's about it?

I've never seen the need to even worry about such a thing.

The more often it checks, the more battery it uses. Nokia decided their phones should check less often and therefore use less battery power. Each company decides how to implement certain things differently.

Don't motorola phones also have the option to set it to slow, medium, and fast manually as well?

Yes they do and that is why I wondered about Nokia refresh rates. Anybody know?
