It will replace the V180 once supplies are depleted, I'm sure. Also, the V188 is quad-band and supports EDGE. The V180 does neither.

I thought the Motorola V186, would have replaced the V180, since it has EDGE and is has the same phone design.

The V-180 in my opinion was the modern version of the C332 disaster...good ridens we've gotten rid of that phone! I've heard the V188 is supposed to my much more stable.

Now Motorola knows how to admit and fix a screw up. Look at the V330 they admitted thier was a problem before we got them. The only problem is that we may not see it until August.

I hope you are joking about the August part... How could it possibly take that long to fix, when it only got delayed at the last possible second? If that is indeed true, then we had better have something else fast to fill that niche.

Thats what I said. I laughed I thought they were joking. I was told it will possibly be sooner but would like to avoid a false launch. It costs a lot of money to ship the hansets to every store and ship them back. Motorola has had a bad track record for example the V600 and they are willing to wait for quality. We waited so long for the V600 the hype was about done. Once it came out it had less problems then I have ever seen from Motorola.

I saw that on the ICM that there they are upgrading some towers as of today in New Jersey...I have read in the trades that we are launching EDGE at the beginning of 2006.

V188 seems like a decent phone, the V180 seemed really cheap. It also has a few more add-ons that the V180 doesn't.

I'm not sure what you mean... build quality-wise they are nearly identical. Just different plastic on the outside.
