I love the deafening silence from the other carrier forums about this map--they have nothing to come back with positively regarding their company, then some weak little post about "well, TMobile has no coverage anyway." Yeah, but we're not afraid to show any and everybody EXACTLY the kind of coverage they can expect at ANY location they choose. We're willing to put our meat out on the slab, and I don't see VZW ("WE HAVE THE LARGEST NETWORK, ERR ERR, DON'T EXPECT US TO PROVE IT, ERR, ERR...") or Cingular ("We are HUGE, we encompass ALL, we are DOMINATING YOU") stepping up to show exactly where their coverage is and isn't... Methinks they have something they don't want hanging out in public for fear it might be s

Yeah, when people can't get a signal I'm sure it will give them great comfort to know that they can confirm it via this tool. 🙄
They can confirm it with that tool BEFORE getting T-Mobile service, so they can verify if T-Mobile is the right choice for them. We don't want people to get our service and then be unhappy with it.

Don't get me wrong. I think this is a great tool that everyone should have. My point is that the previous poster makes it out to be the game winning shot that shuts everyone else up when in fact coverage is still king when it gets right down to it. Tools like this should be mandatory among the carriers but it still doesn't make up for poor coverage.
...and speaking of tools...
Look, what I SAID was that I find it interesting that all these companies who brag endlessly and loudly about their great, stellar, amazing, beer flavored coverage are suddenly quiet when asked simply to prove it by providing actual, realtime updated coverage maps that are detailed to a meaningful level. The very f...

Same with my area--VZW coverage is pretty crummy and I know this because I had them as a carrier for three years. Friends of mine with VZW are STILL having problems in the same areas I used to have trouble with, and it's been more than two years since I switched to TMo--so much for the whole "we spend ever so much money improving our coverage" claims. Not here you don't! Cingular is only here taking over existing ATT coverage which was pretty lame to start out with and now everybody has migration and billing issues to go along with it. Nextel is a flipping joke, and I know because I had to use them with two separate employers. I ended up using my cell phone constantly due to never being able to raise my di

You find the VZW bills easy to read? Funny, they always gave me eyestrain and were laid out in this weird landscape format and the front page was never where you'd expect it. The original Airtouch bills were better... I like the TMo bills, they're very uniform in layout, have a decent font, and almost everything is laid out logically--I seldom have a problem explaining them to customers...

Ah, that would explain it--I dumped them in April '03...

VZW's coverage changed in February for those of you who do not know. VZW does not have analog on their new plans so everywhere on the map is a digital area. For those of you losing signal, when was the last time you dialed *228 option 2. Maybe everyone should do more research before they post. 😈
Gee, why would you expect people in a TMo forum to be intimately acquainted with account features of VZW? And where can VZW customers go to find an interactive street level coverage map that accurately shows the level of coverage they can expect in their area? That is, after all, what this thread is all about...

Well, I guess you have a problem actually following threads in forums, because I was responding to an issue raised about VZW, even though it was in a TMo forum, that is were the issue was raised, and I knew that is were the person that wrote that message would read it. 🙄
Well, if you're referencing a response in a thread, you might want to make use of the neat little link that says "Message Above, Quoted" that appears above the rows of emoticons in the submit reply field. Quoting the previous message, as I have done here, reduces the likelihood of misunderstanding as to what, exactly, you are going on about, and error free transmission is what the wireless industry is all about, wou...
