T-Mobile PocketPC Question…

moto609only

I am considering buying the HP Ipaq 6315, but I hear a lot of speculation about the 6500. I know the 6315 has been out for sometime & it recently got an upgrade from T-mobile. Question, what should I do? Wait? Or Buy…if Buy, why? What makes it better or worse than the 6500? Please help.

Weeeeeeeeeeeell, as far as T-Mobile carrying another pocket pc, we are looking into it, but haven't heard anything definite about what will come next. So, if you wait, it'd be hard to say what you're waiting for.

Besides, the iPaq is sweet... I'd snag it in a heartbeat if I could afford it--WiFi, GPRS, QWERTY keyboard, camera, Bluetooth--what's not to like...

Depends on your needs. the ipaq has a LOT more features than the Sidekick. For a lot of people, the Sidekick will work.

oh gosh, where to start...they're both really neat, but LilShorty is right...it really depends on your needs, or you'll basically just end up with a very expensive toy lol. (which that is fine, too)

I love my sidekickII....I too wanted an ipaq, but just couln't bring myself to spend that much though...it really is pretty awesome lol

what features are you looking for in a device?

Well, im a party promoter in jersey, so I get a lot of things sent thru email, I send a million & 1 text messages a month, I don’t use the phone very often (thanks to email & txt msgs). And I use the net a lot to search for things & to keep up with the latest events, yadda, yadda, yadda. I like the sidekick II because its small & it does not stand out…the Ipaq is a little bigger. I went to the T-mobile store to play with them both & I cant get past the Ipaq…the sidekick does not hold my attention, yet I like that the SK-II is tiny, but not the Motorola A630! But the SK-II has flash with the camera, but I like the camera on the Ipaq better. I like the SK-II, I wish it had more features…like windows & bluetooth. Maybe SK-III. Does anyone know ...

Well you said as well you send a lot of e-mail and text messages, and use very little voice minutes....The sidekick feature allows for both unlimited e-mail AND text, the ipaq does not...just unlimited e-mail. The ipaq will be compatible with more programs for sync, and holds a significant more amount of applications internally. With the sidekick, you can get a program called intellisync, which allows you to sync your contact list and calendar, but nothing more. With the sidekick you can pull up your entire desktop interface (including pictures, e-mail, addy's etc...everything) though from any pc as long as it has internet access and you can pull up T-Mobile.com The ipaq will support that only for e-mail, the rest would be through any comput...
