It depends entirely on your previous experience. SO, it's usually different for everyone.

From what I understand, base pay for a cc rep is $9.50/hour...but I don't know a single person that started that low. I know people who are making 16+/hour and anywhere inbetween. We are encouraged not to discuss that info to prevent any animosity, and it is a rather personal question, all things considered.

There are a lot of people I Work with that have 2 and 3 degrees, but they are at T-Mobile because of better pay and benefits.

We actually have a "csr haven" at our call center with some normal computers we can get online, but next to each one is the instructions on how to apply for a different position internally. They do actually support you if you want to move around or try something else out, and they try their best to promote...

thank you very much.. thats pretty much what cingular starts out at for care rep I. And do not know anyone that started out that low ! The highest starting wage is 11.50 for care, And then we get union raises every 6 months and a company raise 1 time per year

we aren't part of a union, so no raises there, but we do get a performance review once a year, and a raise. Also, we get quarterly bonuses that are also performance based.

I'm a rep for the former AT&T wireless, and now Cingular pays me. I've been here 2.5 years and make 12.50/hour and get a shift premium of .50 for working the graveyard shift. People here start at 10$, after 90 days a .50$ raise, after 6 months another .50$ raise, 1 year .50$, 18 months .50$, two years .50$, then after three years and every year after it's a percentage of what you make, usually about .35$.
The only thing we require is to have a high school diploma, and type 20 words per min.
heh. surisingly that leaves out a good chunk of people in my town.
And I really don't think this is a personal question whatsoever. I'd even tell you if we were face to face. I don't get why people think it's so personal. But hey! That's just me.

I know that when I started at TMobile 2.5 yrs ago the starting pay was between 8.60-10.60 (in one of the Midwest call centers). I had one of my co-workers only get the 8.60. I got 10.10. Due to good stats I (with shift diff of $1.00/hr) make a little over $15/hr.
My shift has to end after 730pm to get the $1/hr. I also have the possibility of working Sat AND Sun and if I do I get $1.50/hr instead.

I like our shift diff's a lot, even though I'm not getting one right now..but an extra $1/hr if your shift ends at or after 7:30pm, for EVERY hour you've worked on your shift, and if you work both saturdays and sundays you make an extra $1.50 for every hour you work on your entire weekly shift.....When I worked at cingular it was like 20% extra after 8pm, but only for the time you were physically after 8.

It was my experience that SprintPCS didn't necessarily CARE about their employees...but have just had a problem in keeping them, and basically try to bribe them to stay. Didn't work with a lot of people, including me!

I took about a dollar an hr paycut to go from SprintPCS to T-Mobile. Comes out to around $2000/yr, and to me, it was WORTH it. And that's not including bonuses. I was getting MUCH bigger bonuses with SprintPCS, with upselling, aka Maximizing, customers. With Sprint, the bonuses were usually about $500-800/mo, while with T-Mobile they're usually about $300-400/quarter.

It's my understanding that the government considers bonuses a luxery, so get a luxery tax. 🙄 There have been times that my bonus had more taken out in taxes than my paycheck.
