This sort of thing would put T-Mobile in a very nice position to start using UMA capable phones when they start coming out. Any thoughts?
Since it is becomming more and more common now days to be able to establish unliscensed wi-fi access point, or "hot spots", more places are doing it.
However, some people may still not have an isp. That's where T-Mobile or any other carrier might jump in and try to get a contract that says *hey if you're in x part of town you're going to be using T-Mobile service on wi-fi* etc...
comcast may be the contracted company to install and maintain the equipment for the city. Not sure if this is the case though, but if it is, don't expect to see anything large scale f...
